Guide to the Sandy One
The San Juan is a great little desert river in southern Utah with lots of historical sites along the banks including Mormon pioneer tracks, mining paraphernalia and ancient rock art. The guide covers the 102 miles from Montezuma Creek, past Bluff and Mexican Hat to Clay Hills. It uses USGS topographic map backgrounds printed at their original scale, with additional details in an easy-to-read format. It shows campsite locations, rapids, scout points, river miles and other points of interest. The accompanying text describes all campsites with pull-in information, geological, botanical and historical points of interest. Maps and photographs are all in color, text is black and white.
